I have requested NHS funding to our GP and have given him information on Professor Vogl. Need some info on patients who have been sucessful in getting some funding. My Husband was diagnosed in Dec last year, four months after he first presented to the GP with his symptoms. GPs need to be more aware of this terrible disease as more and more people are now stating with symtoms. Should be a test for people and families who have worked with asbestos in the past. I worry that it may have been passed on to our children as they were newborn when my husband worked with asbestos 45 years ago.

It is an outrage that the people affected by this dreadful industrial disease have to travel abroad for what is potentially life saving treatment. It is a national disgrace.
The only treatment on offer in the UK offers life extension of a matter of months. The prognosis is approx 9-18 months, but the disease takes a month to diagnose. Health professionals are dishonest and tell you there is no alternative treatment possibility, even though they have other patients doing the Vogl treatment in Germany.
Very disappointed with the NHS and the Government. So much for improvements in cancer treatment availability.

From What I understand - Transpulmonary chemoembolisation trials for the treatment of mesothelioma has only been carried out in Germany. However- the same technique has been used in various other countries to treat liver cancer.
